Punjab CM intensifies crackdown on adulterated milk supply

MULTAN: Under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, intensified efforts against food-related offences continue as the Punjab Food Authority conducted a raid on a milk supply vehicle at Nagshah Chowk.
During the inspection, led by the Director General of Punjab Food Authority, Mohammad Asim Javed, it was discovered that 2,000 litres of milk had been adulterated with water, compromising its natural nutritional value.

The milk, which was being transported from Shujaabad to Multan city, was tested using modern lactoscan technology, revealing the contamination. As a result, the supplier was fined Rs. 25,000, and the adulterated milk was destroyed on-site.
The DG of the Punjab Food Authority reiterated the department’s commitment to clamping down on the supply of adulterated milk, stating that any such attempts would be effectively thwarted to ensure public health and safety.
