Punjab government appoints and transfers 36 officials

LAHORE: The Punjab government announced the appointment and transfer of 36 government officials across various departments on Wednesday.
Amna Munir was transferred from her position as Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Social Welfare and directed to report to the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD). Meanwhile, Sikandar Zeeshan was appointed as the new DG of the Directorate of Social Welfare.

Farooq Aamir, previously the Additional Secretary of the Home Department, was re-transferred with Imran Hussain appointed as his successor.
Sidrah Unis was removed from her role as Managing Director of the Punjab Small Industries Corporation. Saira Umar will take over the position from Sidrah Unis.
Safina Siddique was removed as DG of the Punjab Women Protection Authority and directed to report to S&GAD. Kulsoom Saqib has been appointed as her replacement.
Zubair Waheed was appointed as Member Inquiries-II, at S&GAD.
Sarfraz Hussain was appointed as Special Secretary for the Agriculture Department in southern Punjab.
Tariq Mehmood was appointed as Special Secretary for Specialised Health, while Mansoor Ahmed has been appointed as DG of the local government.
Afzal Ahmed was appointed Secretary of the Punjab Agriculture Commission, while Amanullah was appointed as Special Secretary for Specialized Health in southern Punjab.

Mohammad Shahzad was apointed as Additional Secretary for Regulation, Mohammad Zeeshan as Additional Secretary of the Home Department, and Mohammad Shahid as Additional Secretary for Admin Forestry.
Meanwhile, Imran Akram was appointed as Additional Secretary for Higher Education, Farooq Qamar as Additional Secretary for Livestock, and Qaiser Rasheed’s services were entrusted to the School Education Department.
Similarly, Abdul Razzaq was appointed as Additional Secretary of the School Education Department, Kashif Raza as Secretary of the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board, and Zameer Hussain’s services were entrusted to the Punjab Food Authority.
Awais Nawaz was given the responsibility of the Culture Department as Additional Secretary, while Aliza Rehan will oversee PMRU as Deputy Secretary.
Khurram Hameed will lead Admin Industries as Deputy Secretary, and Muhammad Ahmar was given the additional charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Planning in Bahawalpur.
The appointment of Muhammad Shahab as Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue in Mandi Bahauddin was canceled, with Lt (retd.) Mohammad Ahmed appointed in his place.

Muhammad Umar was appointed as Additional Deputy Commissioner General in Okara, Ghulam Mustafa as Additional Deputy Commissioner General in Khanewal, Aitzaz Anjum as Additional Deputy Commissioner General in DG Khan, Ghulam Sarwar as Additional Deputy Commissioner General in Sahiwal and Waqar Akbar was appointed as Additional Commissioner General in Mandi Bahauddin.
The latest appointments and transfers are part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to impoverish administrative efficiency.
