Quetta blast preliminary report presented to Interior Minister, Balochistan CM

QUETTA: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti presided over an important meeting regarding the railway station blast.

The preliminary report of the railway station suicide blast was presented during the meeting.

Both leaders also offered prayers for the martyrs of the blast, and expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the injured.

The interior minister said that decisive measures will be taken with full force to crush terrorism from the country. During the meeting, it was also decided to increase the scope of intelligence-based operation to thwart the nefarious plans of terrorists.

“We will provide all possible support to the Balochistan government to deal with the scourge of terrorism,” Naqvi said. He also directed for all necessary resources to be provided to the Balochistan government on a priority basis.

The interior minister also said that the federal government will provide all resources and assistance needed for the training and capacity building of the Balochistan Police, counter-terrorism department (CTD) as well as other forces.

Balochistan CM Bugti said, “With the support of the federal government, steps will be taken to increase the professional capacity of police and levies force,” adding that these forces will be trained on modern lines to fight terrorism.

CM Bugti said, “We are grateful to federal interior minister for visiting Balochistan from time to time and playing an active role in restoring peace”.

Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Interior Shahabuddin, and Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari were also present in the meeting.
