ISLAMABAD: Rain with thunderstorm is expected in different parts of the country including Islamabad in the next 12 hours, according to the Meteorological Department.
A few areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan may receive rain.
In Punjab, rain has been forecast in various parts of Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Murree, and Galiyat. In Sindh, districts including Sanghar, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sibi, Badin, and Thatta are also likely to receive rain.
Dykes breached to protect populated areas as flood ravages Punjab
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain with thunderstorm is expected in Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kurram, and Haripur.
In Balochistan, Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Lasbela, and Khuzdar are likely to receive showers, while most districts of the province will remain hot and dry.
RIVERS SITUATION
According to the Flood Forecasting Division, rivers across the country are experiencing severe flood situations at various points.
In the Sutlej River, an exceptionally high flood has been recorded at Ganda Singh Wala, with an outflow of 319,295 cusecs. At Sulemanki, a high flood has been reported with a flow of 132,000 cusecs, while at Head Islam, a medium-level flood is ongoing with a discharge of 95,727 cusecs.
In the Ravi River, a medium-level flood is reported at Jassar with a discharge of 82,140 cusecs. At Shahdara, a high flood has been recorded, where the outflow reached 90,500 cusecs. At Balloki, both inflow and outflow stood at 118,520 cusecs, while at Sadhnai, the figure reached 142,690 cusecs.
The Chenab River is also facing dangerous conditions. At Marala, a high flood is reported, while Khanki and Qadirabad are witnessing very high floods. At Marala, the discharge reached 250,838 cusecs, while at Qadirabad, it swelled to 557,440 cusecs. At Chiniot, a very high flood has been recorded with a flow of 433,000 cusecs.
At Head Trimmu, a medium-level flood is reported with an inflow and outflow of 265,837 cusecs. At Panjnad, a low-level flood is being witnessed, where inflow was recorded at 169,030 cusecs and outflow at 155,062 cusecs.
