Rangers and CTD conduct joint op, BLF suspect rounded

WEB DESK: A highly wanted suspect affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), involved in multiple terrorist activities, has been arrested from Lyari following a joint intelligence operation by Rangers and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

According to the Rangers spokesperson weapons recovered from the suspect’s possession have been handed over to CTD for further legal action. The arrested suspect is a resident of Sar Godam Lyari and joined BLF in 2019 on the instructions of his associate, Faraz alias Ganja.

The suspect was involved in conducting recce of several sensitive locations and making videos along with his associate, Faraz alias Ganja Baloch. On March 9, 2021, the suspect, along with Faraz alias Ganja, opened fire on a Chinese national’s vehicle at the Kamela Bus Stop in Lyari. In the attack by the suspect and his associate, Chinese national manager Jason and driver Khalid were injured.

The suspect also conducted surveillance on journalists Akram Sajidi and Shahid Zehri at Hub Chowki and sent the videos to BLF commander Abdul Rehman alias Adnan alias David.

On October 10, 2021, BLF terrorists killed journalist Shahid Zehri in a car bombing at Hub Chowki, while Akram Sajidi was killed within a month as well in another explosion.
