Three Balochistan Constabulary personnel martyred, 16 injured in Mastung blast

MASTUNG: Three personnel of the Balochistan Constabulary have been martyred, while 16 are injured in a powerful blast that struck the truck carrying the personnel in Mastung, government officials confirmed on Tuesday.
According to Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near the truck carrying Balochistan Constabulary officers near Khund Kund, Mastung. Three personnel were martyred, and at least 16 others were injured in the incident.
The injured were said to be in critical condition, and all victims were taken to nearby hospitals.
Those seriously injured are being moved to Quetta for advanced medical care. An emergency has been declared at Bolan Medical Complex and Civil Hospital Quetta.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned terrorist attack and expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of personnel. Extending condolences and strength to their families, he directed authorities to ensure immediate medical assistance for the injured: “These enemies of humanity will never succeed in their evil plans.”
He reaffirmed that the fight against terrorism will continue until it is eradicated from the country

The constabulary officers were reportedly deployed for the security of a protest led by the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and were returning from their duty when they were targetted.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the Mastung blast strongly and directed health authorities to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured.
He also instructed Provincial Health Minister Bakhth Kakar to personally oversee the medical arrangements.
“No negligence in treatment will be tolerated,” Bugti said, adding that those behind the attack will not be spared. “The government stands with the families of the martyrs in this hour of grief,” he said.
An enquiry has been ordered into the incident.
