Two dead, 20 injured including foreign nationals in Hazara Motorway accident

PESHAWAR: A bus going from Gilgit to Islamabad lost control near Shah Maqsood Interchange on Hazara Motorway and fell into a rain gutter on the motorway, on Tuesday morning.
The traffic accident caused two fatalities and inured 20 injured passengers including foreign nationals; one Chinese national and one tourist from the Czech Republic. The injured have been shifted to the Haripur Trauma Center after providing first aid, rescue officials said.
Suspect dies in police custody
As soon as the information about the accident was received, on the instructions of District Emergency Officer Rafiullah Marwat, medical teams of Rescue 1122 Haripur immediately reached the spot from Satellite Station and 11 (Haripur) Station.
A total of 48 people including three foreigners were aboard the bus. According to initial information, the accident occurred due to the driver falling asleep.
Among those injured in the accident were 25-year-old Ahmed, resident of Baltistan; 25-year-old Ali, resident of Sahiwal; 25-year-old Mursalin, resident of Pakpattan; 25-year-old Yoon, resident of the Czech Republic; and 28-year-old Liu Lidong, resident of China (foreigner).
