RAWALPINDI: Residents in several areas of Rawalpindi will experience power cuts from 6 am to 8 am on Friday (today), Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) announced.

A spokesperson for IESCO attributed the interruption to repair work at the Satellite Town Grid Station.
IESCO was established in 1998. It took over responsibilities from the former Islamabad Area Electricity Board under the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA). It operates across six districts from Attock to Jhelum and from the Indus River to the Neelum River in Kashmir.
According to its website, IESCO serves nearly 3.2 million consumers, directly impacting over 25 million people across its operational area.
The organisation is comprised of six circles, each overseen by superintending engineers. It also encompasses 20 divisions, each managed by executive engineers, and 110 subdivisions, each supervised by sub-divisional officers.
Beyond its operational role, the electric supplier actively minimises its environmental impact through “sustainable practices” and “initiatives”.
