ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a weather warning for Tuesday, warning of localised floods and risk of landslides across northern Pakistan on Monday.
The PMD warned that moderate to heavy rainfall may result in flash floods in local water inlets and streams of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northern Punjab.
Within KP, Dir, Swat, Chitral, Manshera, and Kohistan districts are in particular prone to local floods. Similarly, heavy rainfall may trigger landslides in upper KP, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Kashmir, and northern Punjab, including Murree and its surrounding regions.
There is also a risk of windstorm, hails, and lightning. The Met Office to exercise caution as these can pose threats to human lives, crops, electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels.
Weather update for Tuesday
The Met Office predicted dry weather with gusty winds in most parts of the country. However, heavy shower of rain with strong winds and even hailstorms are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Punjab, Islamabad, GB and Kashmir.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, partly cloudy weather with rain and wind is expected during the evening and night. Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are likely to experience more rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with isolated hail during the day.
Balochistan is expected to have dry weather with winds in most districts, while Punjab may witness more rain, wind, and thunderstorms, including incident of hail in select regions.
Meanwhile, Sindh is forecasted to experience hot and dry weather with dust-raising winds in most districts.
