WEB DESK: Despite the dense fog in Lahore, students are resolutely proceeding to their schools, colleges, and universities today.
It’s imperative to highlight that Inspector General (IG) Punjab Police Usman Anwar has unequivocally debunked rumours of a security threat, asserting that the purported news about imminent school closures is baseless.
The government has, as of now, not made any decision to shut down educational institutions.
This commitment to continuity echoes in Islamabad as well, where schools remain open. Students in the capital city are adhering to their regular class schedules despite the prevailing fog, which, on Thursday, January 25, did not impede travel significantly.
Turning back to an earlier incident on January 22, responding to a viral notification circulating on social media, the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad took a decisive stance, clarifying that the document proclaiming the closure of schools, colleges, and resorts in the federal capital is indeed fake.
Islamabad Police, in no uncertain terms, declared the notification illegitimate.
It’s worth noting that no official communication from the Federal Directorate of Education has been issued to support the closure of government educational institutions.
As such, students and educators alike are encouraged to rely on official channels for accurate information regarding the operational status of educational facilities in the region.
