School timings changed in Islamabad due to heat

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Friday changed the timings of the schools in Islamabad owing to the ongoing heat that has gripped the city.
A notification said that institutes operating in a single shift can remain open from 7am till 1 pm from Monday to Thursday.
It further stated that schools operating two shifts will have classes on Friday and Saturday from 7am till 11am.

The timings will be implemented with immediate effect.
According to the secretary of education Mahuddin Wani, the decision has been taken for the safety and wellbeing of the students as well as the staff due to the heat.
