Schools to remain closed on Monday

ISLAMABAD: Schools across Sindh, Lahore District and Rawalpindi Tehsil will remain closed on Monday (August 26) on account of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain.

The Sindh government has announced a holiday in all educational institutions on August 26 (Monday) in observance of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain. The provincial Education Department’s steering committee made the decision.

Meanwhile, the Department of College Education also announced a holiday on Monday and issued a notification regarding the holiday.

Meanwhile the schools across the Punjab provincial capital will remain closed on August 26 (Monday) on account of the urs (death anniversary) of sufi saint Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh.

An official notification issued in this regard stated that all public and private schools in Lahore will observe a holiday on the occasion of urs.

Meanwhile, all educational institutions situated within the Municipal limits of Tehsil Rawalpindi excluding Cantonment areas will remain closed on Monday (August 26) on account of Chehlum procession

The official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi said all educational institutions, both private and government, including universities, colleges and schools will remain closed on account of Chehlum
