ISLAMABAD: A second report on the devastating attack targeting Chinese engineers in Shangla has been dispatched to the federal government, shedding light on critical details surrounding the tragic incident.

The report, compiled by law enforcement authorities, sheds light on the security measures in place during the attack. The vehicle transporting the Chinese engineers was found to lack essential protective features. As per the report, the vehicle was neither bulletproof nor bombproof. This vulnerability likely contributed to the tragic outcome of the assault, which also claimed the life of a female Chinese engineer.

The report also says that aerial reconnaissance of the crime scene has been conducted, providing valuable insights into the aftermath of the attack. Dasu Dam is situated a mere 77 kilometers away from the location of the incident.

Further analysis of the scene revealed details about the impact of the blast. The destroyed bus, where the attack occurred, was found to be positioned just 15 feet away from another bus in the convoy. The force of the suicide blast was so immense that it caused the bus to plummet a staggering 300 feet into the depths below.

Despite the tragic circumstances, authorities have been swift in their response efforts. The report indicates that all buses within the Chinese convoy were equipped with closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, facilitating ongoing investigations into the attack. Additionally, fragments of the vehicle utilized by the suicide bomber have been recovered, offering potential leads for law enforcement agencies.
