ISLAMABAD: Security sources have strongly dismissed reports of any protestor deaths during Operation ‘clean-up’ launched to vacate the Blue Area, the site of the recent protest by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf.
They labeled the claims as “false and baseless propaganda,” dubbing it as an attempt to mislead the public and obscure certain failures.
According to the sources, accusations that tear gas shelling by law enforcement caused fatalities have no factual basis.

“No lethal weapons were used during the operations by police or Rangers,” they clarified, emphasising that they followed standard protocols to disperse crowds.
PTI announced the cancellation of its protest after the crackdown was launched by authorities to disperse the crowd.
A spokesperson for the party claimed that “hundreds of peaceful protesters” were injured in what they described as “a brutal and violent police response.”
PTI further stated that after consultations with their founding chairman and the core committee, they would soon announce their next course of action.
