Punjabi labourers killed in Gwadar

KARACHI: Unidentified gunmen shot dead seven labourers from Punjab in their sleep in Gwadar in the wee hours of Thursday.

According to Police officials,  all the seven labourers were from Punjab city of Khanewal.

According to police, the labourers were targeted by the militants as they were sleeping in their residential quarters in Sarbandar area near Gwadar Fish Harbour Jetty at 3:00 am. Another labourer was injured in the incident.

The deceased and the injured worked at a salon in Gwadar.

The police personnel shifted the dead bodies and the injured to a hospital in Gwadar.

Police have launched an investigation and carried out raids to arrest the culprits.

INTERIOR MINISTER CONDEMNS TERROR ATTACK

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the terrorist incident in Gwadar, expressing deep sorrow and regret over the killing of seven innocent people in the heinous act.

Mohsin Naqvi offered his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims, saying he equally shares in the grief of the bereaved families.

BALOCHISTAN GOVT CONDEMNS KILLING OF INNOCENT LABOURERS

Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove also condemned the killing of innocent laborers in Sarbandar area of ​​Gwadar and called for a report.

The provincial interior minister said that the killing of innocent laborers is open terrorism and a cowardly act and the terrorists will be dealt with an iron hand.

The incident is being examined from all aspects, the involved terrorists should be brought to justice, the minister said.

According to the spokesman of the provincial government, the administrative officers have reached the scene of the incident, and are in touch with the district administration, and the families of the martyred laborers are being contacted.

The minister said such elements who play with the lives of innocent people do not deserve to be called human beings.

 “We are committed to the total elimination of the scourge of terrorism from the country,” he added.
