Mysterious fire destroys more than 30 vehicles in Karachi

KARACHI: More than 30 vehicles were destroyed and damaged when a fire broke out near the Qurtuba Mosque in the Clifton area of Karachi.

According to details, the fire erupted suddenly in the scrap vehicles near Qurtaba Mosque in Block 1 of Shireen Jinnah Colony, under the jurisdiction of Boat Basin police station.

The blaze quickly intensified, and the flames soon engulfed the vehicles, rising high into the sky.

According to rescue officials, multiple fire brigade vehicles responded to control the blaze, which has been contained and cooling efforts are underway. There are no reports of any casualties.

A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said that the Central Command and Control received the fire alert at around 6:30 am. According to fire brigade officials, the initial call about the blaze was received at around 5:30 am, following which two KMC fire tenders were sent to the location.

Officials confirmed that the vehicles destroyed in the fire were government-owned. However, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are underway to determine how the fire started. Police and Rescue 1122 representatives stated that efforts are ongoing to identify the ownership of the vehicles.
