Situation normalized in Bishkek, says Kyrgyz govt

BISHKEK: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has asked diplomatic mission to refrain from spread of inaccurate information about the incident that happened overnight in Bishkek with involvement of foreign nationals.
The police detained both foreign nationals and citizens of Kyrgyzstan involved in the incident, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement according to Kyrgyz official news agency .
“The situation is under full control of law enforcement agencies. Safety of citizens and public order was protected. None of participants of the incident receives serious injuries. Around 15 visited hospitals,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry said it does not have information on injured foreign nationals.
The Foreign Ministry urged media representatives and foreign diplomatic missions not to spread inaccurate and unconfirmed information.

Meanwhile according to the ministry of health, 29 people sought medical assistance in Bishkek last night.
15 were transported to Bishkek Emergency Clinical Hospital and National Hospital. The rest were provided medical assistance on the ground.
As of the morning of May 18, two patients remained in the Bishkek Emergency Hospital. They were diagnosed with closed craniocerebral injury, concussion. The condition of the patients is assessed as relatively satisfactory. One victim, after receiving medical care, was discharged.

12 victims with various injuries were admitted to the National Hospital. After receiving medical care, 11 were discharged for outpatient treatment.
Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev visited the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of the National Hospital on May 18 and got acquainted with the health condition of the injured Pakistani citizen, who was diagnosed with a fractured jaw. The patient is being prepared for surgery: repositioning of a jaw fracture.
