Smog hinders flight operations in Lahore

LAHORE: Flight operations at Lahore Allama Iqbal International Airport have been severely disrupted due to the thick smog engulfing the provincial capital and its surrounding areas.
Over 20 International and domestic flights have either been cancelled or delayed due to dense fog and smog.
Over 10 departing international flights and one domestic flight from Lahore faced delays. The Doha-bound PK-279 was delayed by more than seven hours, the Kuwait-bound PK-239 by six hours, the Dubai-bound EK-623 by 10 hours, and the Riyadh-bound XY-318 by seven hours.
Two Jeddah-bound flights, PF-716 and SV-735, were delayed by over three and five hours, respectively, while Dubai-bound PA-410 faced a six-hour delay.

Due to the flight operations disruptions at the Lahore airport, several inbound flights were also delayed, including the Dubai-Lahore EK-624 by six hours, Abu Dhabi-Lahore PA-431 by 10 hours, and Doha-Lahore PK-280 by seven hours. Jeddah-Lahore SV-734 was delayed by five hours, and PA-471 by over eight hours.
Two flights from Jeddah (SV-739) and Quetta (PK-322) to Lahore were canceled, along with two inbound flights, Jeddah-Lahore SV-738 and Quetta-Lahore PK-323.
The dense fog has posed a major challenge for air travel, with flight schedules disrupted, affecting passengers traveling to and from Lahore.
