LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has said that soaring electricity bills are a burden on the public.
Chairing a consultative meeting of the PML-N’s top leadership at the party secretariat in Model Town, Nawaz Sharif emphasised that the burden of costly electricity bills has become unbearable for the people. He attributed the current inflation and high utility costs to the previous government’s mismanagement but acknowledged that the public now expects relief from his party.
“This is a test of our abilities — how we can provide relief to the people even in the most challenging circumstances. Saving the country from default and making political sacrifices to restore economic stability is proof of our patriotism,” he stated.
He further added, “Just as we saved the country from default, it is now our duty to save the people from default. The PML-N has always found a way out of difficulties.”

He also mentioned that relief has been provided for three months to consumers using up to 200 units of both protected and non-protected electricity.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on providing relief to the public, particularly in addressing the issue of high electricity bills.
