ISLAMABAD: In light of the movement of “foreign guests” in the region, the Islamabad Traffic Police announced extraordinary security arrangements that will affect traffic flow on the Srinagar Highway on Wednesday.
The advisory aims to inform citizens about the expect disruptions and provide guidance on alternative routes to ensure smooth travel during this period.
Traffic disruption scheduled
The capital traffic police indicated that there will be significant disruptions to traffic flow on the Srinagar Highway this morning, specifically between the hours of 7:30 am and 9:30 am.

During the scheduled time, motorists can expect delays and slower traffic conditions as security measures are implemented to facilitate the safe movement of foreign guests.
Recommended alternative routes
To mitigate the impact of these disruptions, citizens are encouraged to utilise alternative routes. The service route connected to the Srinagar Highway is recommended for those travelling in the area. It will provide a viable option for bypassing the congested main highway and can help reduce travel time.
For people heading towards Sector F6, it is advisable to use the H8 underpass to navigate towards sector F7. This route is expected to be less affected by the ongoing security arrangement and may offer a more efficient travel experience.
For those traveling to sector I and H, the Rawalpindi Peshawar Road and IJP Road are suggested as alternative service roads. These routes are likely to experience less congestion and can serve as effective detours.
Traffic police presence
To assist citizen during this period, the Islamabad traffic police will have personnel stationed at various locations. The officers will be available to provide guidance and support.
Travel time recommendations
In light of the expected traffic delays, the traffic police has advised citizens to plan their journeys with a time buffer of at least 20 minutes.
