Thatta admin issues cyclone alert

THATTA: The Thatta district administration has issued a high-alert ahead of an imminent cyclone that is likely to strike the Sindh coast in the next 24 hours.

Thatta Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ghulam Farooq Soomro has specifically cautioned fishermen against venturing into the open sea for fishing. 

“Efforts are under way to safely evacuate fishermen currently at the sea and bring them back to the seashore” the DC said.

Soomro directed the health department and other departments to remain vigilant to cope with the cyclone.

Government officials have been directed to ask fishermen and their families to take extreme precautions and cooperate with the district administration.
