Rawalpindi: Three more retired army officers have been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigations against former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed, according to ISPR.
These officers have been arrested for violating army discipline and they are being interrogated, according to an ISPR statement.
Investigations are underway into the actions of certain retired officers and their accomplices, who are suspected of fomenting instability in collusion with vested political interests, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
These suspects are believed to have acted at the behest of political entities, compromising military discipline, the statement further said on Thursday.
The ISPR further said that three retired officers are currently in military custody, in connection with the court martial proceedings of Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed.
The military is continuing its probe into the involvement of these officers and others in activities detrimental to national stability.
In an unprecedented move earlier this month, former Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) chief Gen (r) Faiz Hameed was detained by military authorities and court martial proceedings were initiated against him on charges of corruption, misuse of authority and violating the Pakistan Army Act.

The former ISI chief was taken into custody over allegations of land grabbing and snatching valuables from the owner of a private housing society in line with the orders of the Supreme Court.
“A detailed court of inquiry was undertaken by the Pakistan Army to ascertain the correctness of complaints in the Top City Case made against Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed,” read the ISPR’s statement.
