ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) on Friday removed three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including opposition leader Omar Ayub, from key parliamentary positions after several party lawmakers were disqualified.
Sources say National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub has been removed from his post, and the PTI has also been stripped of the Opposition Leader’s chamber.
According to sources, Zartaj Gul has also been removed as Parliamentary Leader, while Ahmed Chattha has been relieved of his position as Deputy Parliamentary Leader.
The move comes after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disqualified several PTI members.
The Speaker of the National Assembly has informed the House about the disqualification of the concerned members.

Omar Ayub has also been removed from the Public Accounts Committee and the Finance Committee.
Sources added that PTI-backed independent members will have to submit fresh names for the posts of parliamentary leader and deputy parliamentary leader.
