ISLAMABAD: The excise office in Islamabad will remain open on Saturdays to facilitate the public to deposit their vehicle token tax.
According to Director Excise Bilal Azam, the token tax counter will remain open from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm on Saturday for the convenience of the public to deposit their taxes.
However, smart card users can now pay their token tax from home 24/7 through the Islamabad City App.
This service has been introduced to provide convenience to the public, ensuring that more people can easily submit their token taxes, said Bilal Azam.
Overseas Pakistanis no longer need ATL status for property tax exemptions
The deadline for paying token tax in Islamabad is 15 days from January 1. If the deadline is missed, it will result in the cancellation of vehicle registration.
The department’s system will automatically flag unpaid taxes, and after the deadline, vehicle owners will face a 200 per cent penalty to reinstate their registration.
Due to the increasing number of defaulters, it has been decided to cancel the registration of vehicles belonging to those who fail to pay their tax, said Bilal Azam.
