Tomatoes prices surge past Rs 200 per kilo in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: With Eid-ul-Azha approaching, the cost of tomatoes has skyrocketed prompting the district administration to impose section 144.

The price of tomatoes has more than doubled in Peshawar, exceeding Rs 200 per kilo in just one day.

Prices of spices rise ahead of Eid

To curb the soaring prices, the Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar has enforced Section 144, prohibiting the transportation of tomatoes outside the district to control the escalating prices.
