The police filed charges of over speeding and negligence against the underage driver.

Afnan explained that he lost control of his car, traveling at 110 km/h, due to barriers on both sides, colliding with another vehicle. Three to four of Afnan’s friends were also in the car at the time of the accident.

The fatal incident occurred late Saturday night as a family, returning to their Shadab Colony home on Ferozepur Road in two cars, experienced a collision near Defence Phase 7.

The police are investigating the tragic accident.

Meanwhile the Lahore Traffic Police has decided to file the first information report against underage drivers barring them from getting admission in educational institutions.

“We would take a lenient way of just giving underage drivers a challan, however, we have decided to file FIR against them to protect people from losses,” Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Mustansar Feroze said in a video message.
