UAE shares reasons behind visa ban with Pakistani authorities

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has shared official documents with Pakistani authorities explaining the reasons behind imposing a visa ban on Pakistani nationals.

The documents reveal plethora of causes, ranging from criminal activities to unsuitable social media posts. The UAE government’s cabinet reviewed complaints against Pakistani nationals and decided to impose a visa ban on the citizens of the country, documents revealed.

According to an article published by The News, the documents shared by the UAE government said that Pakistanis held protests, used social media platforms in an inappropriate manner according to UAE laws, and also criticised the UAE government. Such activities contributed towards painting an unwanted image of the UAE, the documents showed.

There are also concerns related to forged identification documents and altered passports submitted by some Pakistani citizens. The nationals living in the UAE were also found involved in criminal activities including prostitution, theft, begging and drug-related offences. These criminal activities were found to be most prevalent among Pakistanis than other nationalities.

The UAE government shared these details with the Pakistan’s ambassador and explained that the visa ban was imposed after due diligence and deliberations at the highest levels of the UAE government. The Pakistani embassy has promptly shared these details with the Pakistani government for immediate addressal of these complaints.
