Traffic plan devised for Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Due to the arrival of foreign dignitaries, traffic will be disrupted from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm today (Thursday) at various places in Islamabad.

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be arriving today on his first official visit to Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office.

Sheikh Khaled will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials, as well as prominent business leaders, the statement added.

According to the Chief Traffic Police, strict security measures will be in place at Koral Chowk, Express Highway, Khanna Pul, Faizabad, Club Road, Murree Road, Faisal Avenue, and Srinagar Highway. Traffic may be stopped during the VIP movement.

The CTO has advised commuters to use service roads along Express Highway and Srinagar Highway, as well as Ninth Avenue and the H-8 underpass.

Traffic heading towards the Red Zone should use Margalla Road, Express Chowk, Ayub Chowk, and Nadra Chowk.

Commuters traveling from the Red Zone to Faizabad should use Convention Center and Club Road.

Traffic police will be deployed at various locations to assist and guide the public, according to CTO Islamabad.
