Weather report: Rain and thunderstorms expected across Pakistan


The PMD predicted rainy weather across the northern Pakistan, while Balochistan and Sindh will remain cold and dry.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted weather conditions that include rain and thunderstorms across the upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper and central Punjab, and Islamabad.

Isolated hailstorm are also expected during on Sunday, while cold and dry weather will prevail in Balochistan and Sindh.

Islamabad weather

The Met Office predicted a 45 per cent probability of rain and thunderstorms on Sunday, with conditions expected to remain unsettled.

Balochistan weather

Meanwhile, weather in Balochistan will remain predominantly cold and dry, particularly in the northern districts.

In Nokkundi, the Met Office predicted sunny weather, with temperatures ranging from 5 to 7 degree Celsius. Sibbi will experience a warmer temperature between 12 degree Celsius to 14 degree Celsius.

 Temperature in Jiwani will range from 15 degree Celsius to 17 degree Celsius, while in Turbat, temperatures will hover around 11 degree Celsius till 13 degree Celsius.

However, residents in Kalat should brace for cold weather, as temperatures are expected to dip anywhere from -6 degree Celsius to -8 degree Celsius.

Gwadar, due to its proximity to the sea, will experience temperatures from 11 degree Celsius to 13 degree Celsius. Surprisingly, the humidity will remain low at a mere 7 per cent.

Quetta, on the other hand, will remain cold at -1 degree Celsius to -3, with 14 per cent humidity.

Weather in Punjab

In Punjab, cloudy weather with light to moderate rainand thunderstorms are expected in several districts. Rawalpindi, Lahore and Sialkot will receive rainfall.

Meanwhile, snowfall is likely in the hilly areas of Murree and Galliyat, while cold and dru conditions will dominate in other districts.

Sindh weather

Cold and dry weather is forecasted for most areas in Sindh, with shallow fog expected in patches during the morning hours in Sukkur, Kashmore and Jacobabad.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Meanwhile, rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the upper province, in Chitral, Dir, Swat and Peshawar.

Cold and partly cloudy weather will envelope in other districts, including Mansehra and surrounding regions.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Residents across GB should brace for very cold and cloudy weather with rain and thunderstorms predicted, particularly affecting the mountainous regions.

Kashmir

Rain and thunderstorms are expected across the northern province, with Srinagar and Muzaffarabad expected to experience quite a chill.

Temperature is expected to dip to -11 degree Celsius in Leh, while Srinagar is expected to experience thunderstorms with temperature ranging from -3 degree Celsius to -1 degree Celsius.

Humidity will be at an all time high of 88 per cent.

Similarly, Jammu will experience high humidity levels (75 per cent) with temperature hovering around 2 degree Celsius.
