cleaning operation

PESHAWAR: Water & Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has commenced a comprehensive cleaning operation in the city to manage waste generated during the Eidul Azha festivities. This three-day operation involves a substantial deployment of personnel and resources to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of Peshawar.

Residents sue Bahria Town over excessive electricity bills

A total of 2,559 personnel are actively participating in the operation, supported by 679 small and large vehicles dedicated to transporting waste. To streamline the collection process, 24 designated collection points have been established across the city.

Smaller vehicles are responsible for gathering the waste from various locations and bringing it to these collection points, from where it is subsequently transported to the dumping site.

At the dumping site, a pit has been specifically dug to handle the disposal of the collected waste. The waste is being systematically destroyed by covering it with soil after thorough spraying. Additionally, extensive spraying activities are being carried out both in the city and at the dumping site to maintain sanitary conditions.

The WSSP’s proactive measures during Eidul Azha aim to ensure a clean and healthy environment for the residents of Peshawar, addressing the challenges posed by the increased waste during the festive period.
