PESHAWAR: The Zil Hajj moon has been sighted in Pakistan, and Eidul Azha will be observed on June 17 (Monday). The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Friday confirmed the moon sighting in Peshawar.

“We extend congratulations to everyone on the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon,” expressed Maulana Hafiz Abdul Ghaffoor. He reiterated that the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee holds the responsibility for making the formal announcement of the moon sighting.
“We will inform the central committee about the moon sighting,” he assured. “The formal announcement of the moon sighting will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. It is not our prerogative to make the announcement,” concluded Maulana Hafiz Abdul Ghaffoor.
