ISLAMABAD: Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayin-e-Pakistan (TTAP) – or Grand Opposition Alliance – has expressed his displeasure over the postponement of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) rally in Tarnol.
Arrests of PTI workers continue as Tarnol rally date rescheduled
In response, he convened a meeting of the TTAP, which included key figures such as PTI leaders Shoaib Shaheen and Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai, as well as Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Chief Allama Nasir Abbas and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) head Hamid Raza.
During the meeting, concerns were raised about the cancellation of the Tarnol rally, with Achakzai criticising the PTI for not consulting him before making the decision.
He expressed his frustration, stating that an application had been filed in court under his name concerning the rally, yet he was not informed of its postponement, a decision he deemed significant.
Shoaib Shaheen, representing PTI, attempted to address Achakzai’s grievances, but tensions remained high as the opposition alliance discussed the implications of the cancellation.
