LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore adjourned the hearing of the high-profile May 9 vandalism case until December 9, citing the absence of key figures Asad Umar and Zain Qureshi.
ATC Lahore Judge Arshad Javed presided over the hearing.
Both leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) failed to appear in the court and instead filed an application for exemption from attendance. The court accepted the request filed by both the accused.

However, sisters of PTI chairman Imran Khan were present at the court. ATC extended the interim bails of both Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan until the next hearing on December 9. The decision to grant the extension came after a brief discussion on the status of the ongoing investigation.
The investigating officers requested the court to grant them more time to complete their investigations, saying that the accused were not cooperating with them. Judge Arshad Javed highlighted that the investigation has yet to be completed and called for a respite in response to the investigating officer’s request.
