Barrister Gohar met with COAS, Gandapur confirms

ISLAMABAD: Yesterday (Wednesday), a meeting between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and an important figure hit the news. The meeting had taken place in Peshawar and soon after there were reports that Gohar had met with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.

Sources said that the meeting discussed the ongoing political tension in the country and the PTI workers still behind bars. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was also present in the meeting.

Sources said that Barrister Gohar Khan was especially called from Islamabad for the meeting, during which PTI founder Imran Khan’s incarceration also came under discussion.

The members of the meeting also discussed about keeping Imran Khan apprised about the political situation in the country. The three important figures also reiterated the need to resolve all issues through talks.

After the meeting, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were also informed about the meeting. However, Barrister Gohar had denied meeting with the Army Chief.

GANDAPUR CONFIRMS TODAY

On Thursday, CM Gandapur reached the Parliament House in Islamabad and while speaking to media confirmed that yesterday he and Barrister Gohar had met with the COAS.

Gandapur also shared that PTI leaders were also present in the meeting with the Army Chief.
