Bushra Bibi’s bail in Toshakhana, Al-Qadir Trust cases extended

ISLAMABAD: The accountability court of Islamabad has extended the interim bail of former first lady Bushra Bibi till November 17 in the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust cases.

Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir heard the case against the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman. He inquired about the absence of Bushra Bibi’s counsel. In response, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor said that they were unaware of the reasons of the counsel’s absence.

The judge said since there was no counsel present for the defendant, the hearing should be adjourned until Friday. The court adjourned the hearing while extending interim bail of Bushra Bibi till November 17.

Yesterday, the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) registrar office had raised objections to Bushra Bibi’s application seeking an order against arresting or summoning her in any case.
