By-elections polling underway in Sibi

SIBI: By-elections are underway in for PB-8 constituency of Sibi in Balochistan. As per the rules of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), polling for the provincial assembly seat will continue till 5 PM.  The number of registered voters in Sibi constituency is 116,161.

There are 124 polling stations in the PB-8 constituency of Sibi. Out of these 34 polling stations are declared highly sensitive, and 90 as sensitive.

Police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) have been deployed at Sibi on the highly sensitive polling stations. CCTV monitoring these polling stations is also being done to ensure security during bye-elections.

The seat fell vacant due to the death of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Provincial Assembly member Sarfraz Domki.

Now, PPP candidate Sardar Kohyar Domki is contesting against an independent candidate Mir Asghar Marri.
