ECP announces key appointments in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday announced key appointments for Balochistan ahead of the general election scheduled for February 8.
According to a notification issued by the ECP, Abdul Muqtadir Ghazali has been appointed District Election Commissioner for Chagai and Muhammad Akbar for Surab.
High demand for postal ballots
Meanwhile, the ECP has received 449,287 applications from all provinces seeking postal ballots. These include 206,533 for the National Assembly and 242,754 for provincial assemblies.
Punjab has sought 73,586 postal ballots for the National Assembly and 74,274 for the provincial assembly seats.
Similarly, Sindh has sought 24,420 postal ballots for the National Assembly and 26,649 for the provincial assembly.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has sought 72,769 postal ballots for the National Assembly and 81,281 for the provincial assembly.
Balochistan has sought 35,758 postal ballots for the National Assembly and 60,550 for the provincial assembly.
