Fawad urges PTI to engage in dialogue with all, including Maulana

Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Tuesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should initiate discussions with all stakeholders, including their renowned adversary and the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Addressing reporters outside the anti-terrorism court (ATC) premises in Rawalpindi, Chaudhry said, “Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s recent address is widely known. Should Fazlur Rehman and PTI align, it could pose challenges for the current government’s tenure.”

He added, “Presently, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PTI share common ground in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It’s imperative to resolve the ongoing political deadlock”.

Criticising the current administration, he said that the current government lacks legitimacy and has been formed through unconventional means.

On Monday, Fazlur Rehman launched a scathing critique of the incumbent government, highlighting dissatisfaction among both winning and losing legislators in the current assembly.

In a speech to the National Assembly, the JUI-F leader decried the parliament’s reduced role, depicting it as a mere facade manipulated by unseen forces.

He also denounced the influence exerted by clandestine entities, suggesting their interference undermines the integrity of political processes.
