Govt devising policy to solve issue of illegal Afghan immigrants: PM Kakar

ISLAMABAD: In an exclusive interview with Reuters, interim Prime Minister (PM) Anwar ul Haq Kakar outlined several crucial policy initiatives and addressed significant national issues.
During the interview, the interim premier Kakar addressed the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, characterising it as a move undertaken after achieving their respective interests. He also commended Pakistan’s hosting of Afghan refugees.
In response to concerns about illegal immigration, PM Kakar revealed the government’s ongoing efforts to formulate a policy aimed at addressing the issue effectively.
Furthermore, PM Kakar revealed that Saudi Arabia planned to invest $25 billion in Pakistan, and the Middle East was expected to invest an additional $25 billion over two to five years.

Meanwhile, the interim prime minister stressed the importance of the Islamic State Fund (ISF) for the economy and announced preparations for midterm reforms to address challenges from violent political parties.
Prime Minister Kakar also talked about the significance of constitutional constituency delimitation post-census for fair electoral representation. Additionally, he disclosed immediate plans to audit multiple electricity companies, underlining the government’s commitment to address energy sector challenges and underscored essential reforms for economic stability in both electricity and taxes.
Prime Minister Kakar expressed the strong and cooperative relationship between the current government and the Pakistan Army, particularly in their joint endeavors towards economic recovery.
