IHC nullifies rejection of acquittal petitions of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi

£190 million case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a nine-page judgment on rejection of acquittal petitions of former premier Imran Khan and former first lady Bushra Bibi.

In the detailed decision judgement, the IHC has declared the rejection of acquittal petitions ‘null and void’ in the case pertaining to £190 million case.

IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb issued the verdict. As per IHC’s ruling, both orders rejecting the acquittal pleas have been quashed. The trial court should decide on both the acquittal petitions, the IHC ruling said.

It is notable here that, yesterday the acquittal petitions of both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana II case were also rejected.

Special Judge Central Islamabad Shahrukh Anjumand had announced the verdict in the court established inside Adiala jail, where the former premier is currently incarcerated.
