LAHORE: Incarcerated former premier Imran Khan has moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) for early scheduling of his bail applications’ hearings.
Founder and former chairman of the opposition party contends that the delay in scheduling of hearings is conspiracy for political revenge. The petition claims that despite the notice issued to the police, hearings are not being scheduled.

Imran Khan’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar has filed a plea in the LHC for early hearings of bail applications in eight cases related to May 9 events. Various applications have also been filed in cases related to Jinnah House attack.
The bail pleas were last heard on January 16. Afterwards notices were issued to the police but the bail applications have not been scheduled for hearing since. Imran Khan contends in the plea that the bail applications should be scheduled for hearing immediately. “It is a common law that not only justice should be done but also seen to be done,” the petition said, requesting the court to schedule the bail applications in the eight cases of May 9 for early hearing.
