Interim bail of Bushra, Raja, other PTI leaders extended until May 5

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad heard requests for an extension of interim bail for multiple accused in the November 26 protest cases. Among the notable individuals whose pleas were accepted are Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, and PTI leader Salman Akram Raja.
ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain heard bail applications and extended the interim bails of the accused until May 5, in seven cases. The said cases have been registered against Bushra Bibi under terrorism provisions in Aabpara, Secretariat, Tarnol, Ramna 2, Margalla and Karachi Company police stations.

She also filed a plea for exemption from appearance, along with an application to be included in the investigation in the case. Advocate Ansar Kiani and Advocate Shamsa Kiani appeared in court on her behalf.
The ATC also heard pre-arrest bail pleas of Salman Akram Raja in four cases related to November 26 protest. The court extended his interim bail until May 5 as well.
Raja had also filed an application for exemption from appearance, which was also accepted by the court.
The said cases have been registered against Raja in Aabpara, Secretariat, Tarnol and Ramna police stations.
Apart from Bushra Bibi and Salman Akram Raja, other PTI leaders, including Shehryar Afridi, Sher Afzal Marwat, Abdul Qayyum Niazi, and Raoof Hasan, also appeared before the ATC today. The court heard their pre-arrest bail applications and extended interim bail to all the accused until May 5.
The cases pertaining to these four PTI leaders have been registered in Tarnol, Secretariat, Kohsar and other police stations over the November 26 protest.

Moreover, other PTI leaders filed exemption requests including Zartaj Gul, Aliya Hamza and Kanwal Shauzab. Some members of the opposition party also appeared before the ATC today, including Mashal Yousafzai, Nadia Khattak, and Falak Naz. The court also heard the bail pleas of Shoaib Shaheen, Ali Bukhari, Umair Niazi, Taimur Jhagra, Ali Zaman, Abdul Latif, and others.
The ATC judge approved bail and extension in bail pleas of all the accused, and issued a statement that all bail applications that have been received will be heard together now.
