Interim Premier Kakar to visit Jaranwala today

Islamabad: Interim Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar is scheduled to visit the areas affected by recent violence in Faisalabad’s Jaranwala tehsil today.

He will be accompanied by Punjab’s interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and federal ministers.

Reliable sources have revealed that Federal Minister for Human Rights Khalil George has been directed to oversee the arrangements for this official visit.

During the visit, the caretaker Prime Minister will extend his solidarity to the Christian community and is anticipated to announce compensation for the losses suffered by those affected.

In the wake of an alleged incident of blasphemy a few days ago, an enraged mob resorted to setting fire to churches, numerous houses, and vehicles. Police authorities have taken swift action, registering cases under various legal provisions and detaining over 100 individuals.
