Interior minister meets JUI-F chief amidst escalating political tensions

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, offering his congratulations on the Maulana’s unopposed election as Amir of the party.

During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi expressed his best wishes to Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hydari, acknowledging their pivotal role in upholding parliamentary supremacy and promoting democratic values.

Naqvi praised Maulana Fazl as a “smart, resourceful, and visionary political leader,” and commended his principled approach to politics. Naqvi also lauded Maulana’s standing as the most senior politician in the country, recognising his influential position in national politics.

The meeting underscores Maulana Fazl’s continued relevance in the political landscape of Pakistan. The meeting comes one day after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan met the JUI-F Chief.
