JI protest

LAHORE: Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has announced a nationwide peaceful strike today, asserting that it will be effective from Chitral to Karachi.

Addressing the media, Hafiz Naeem stated that the strike is a response to what he described as the introduction of detrimental schemes targeting traders and their interests.

The JI chief criticised the current rulers, accusing them of clinging to their privileges and failing to address the grievances of ordinary citizens. He highlighted the increasing burden imposed on the public due to the luxurious lifestyles of those in power.

According to Hafiz Naeem, the heavy-handed policies and high taxes imposed on markets are untenable and unjust. The JI leader emphasised that the decision to implement taxes based on market conditions is unacceptable and called for a fairer approach.
