Justice Irfan Saadat takes oath as SC judge

ISLAMABAD: Justice Irfan Saadat Khan has taken oath as the Supreme Court judge in a swearing-in ceremony held in Islamabad on Friday.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa administered the oath of Justice Irfan Saadat.

The judges of the Supreme Court, attorney general, and lawyers attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Justice Irfan Saadat was the acting Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court.

Six LHC judges complete five years

After the elevation of Justice Irfan Saadat to the Supreme Court, the strength of the apex court judges has risen to 16.

It is to be noted that one vacancy is still vacant in the Supreme Court as its full strength should be 17.

On October 20, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) unanimously approved the nomination of Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, Acting Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, as a judge of the Supreme Court.
