LAHORE: The Deputy Commissioner of Lahore has issued orders to keep Khadija Shah detained for a period of thirty (30) days in Lahore. The decision was made based on the recommendation of the Superintendent of Police (SP) Cantt and the District Intelligence Branch.
The detention orders were officially issued by the Deputy Commissioner citing Khadija Shah’s alleged involvement in violent activities on May 9. The notification stated that thorough scrutiny of the evidence against her had been conducted, leading to the decision to detain her.

The authorities expressed concern that Khadija Shah’s release might pose a threat to law and order, citing the potential for her to engage in activities that could disturb public peace. As a precautionary measure, she has been detained for thirty days, according to the notification.
In response to the detention, Khadija Shah’s legal team has announced plans to challenge the decision in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
It is notable that, on Wednesday, Shah was granted post-arrest bail in the fourth case related to the May 9 riots, registered against her. She had already been granted bail in the remaining cases, including the cybercrime case for which she was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for allegedly inciting people against the army during the May 9 violence.
