Mayor Karachi vows to prioritise city’s water, drainage issues

KARACHI: Karachi’s newly elected Mayor Murtaza Wahab has unveiled plans for the city’s development while announcing to contest election from one of the union councils committee to secure a position in the city council within the next ten days.

Wahab, in his statement, highlighted his party’s goals and emphasised the need for collaboration and balance among all city departments. He assured the city’s residents of his commitment to tackling the city’s challenges.

Water shortage was acknowledged as a major issue by Wahab, and he pledged to take steps to mitigate the city’s water crisis. He stated that increasing the city’s water supply and improving the water distribution system were among his top priorities.

Another area of concern that Wahab mentioned was the drainage issues that the city has to deal with following heavy rain every time.

He prioritised addressing the two problems and said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is already putting in efforts to clean the city’s drains.
