ISLAMABAD: Interim Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has announced that the interim government is poised to unveil an economic revival plan in the coming days to address the issues of inflation and the national economic challenges.
Speaking on the programme Upfront with Mona Alam on HUM News, host Mona Alam raised questions about the government’s strategy in the wake of recent protests concerning inflation, as well as incidents where citizens across the nation resorted to burning electricity and gas bills.
In response, Murtaza Solangi highlighted the economic factors at play, including the recent depreciation of the Pakistani rupee and the surge in global oil prices. He said that these factors have contributed to the inflationary pressures, a matter of concern for the interim government.

“We see and acknowledge the hardships faced by the people, however, the government will unveil an economic revival plan in the upcoming week, grounded in transparency,” the interim minister revealed.
Solangi also expressed confidence in the capabilities of the interim government’s ministers, asserting their commitment to improving the nation’s circumstances. He said that the aim of the economic revival plan is to alleviate the financial burdens on citizens.
Meanwhile, host Alam addressed the recent controversial remarks made by interim premier, particularly his statement regarding brain drain. Solangi clarified: “The statement has been taken out of context and while people may criticise, we respect their right to criticism”.
Furthermore, addressing concerns about law enforcement in the aftermath of the May 9 incidents, where strict actions were promised by Prime Minister Kakar in his maiden speech, Murtaza Solangi acknowledged the complexities of the situation.
“May 9 violence had unprecedented implications, causing strains on democracy. The interim government will respect the law and court proceedings and the outcomes will be driven by justice, not revenge,” the minister affirmed.
