National Assembly to meet today amid tightened security

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly will convene its session today at 6 PM at the Parliament House, according to a spokesperson from the National Assembly. In light of the prevailing security situation, stringent security measures have been implemented for the upcoming sessions.
As a precaution, the entry of visitors to the sessions has been prohibited. The spokesperson stated that only media representatives with valid press gallery cards will be permitted entry into the Parliament House. This decision has been taken to ensure the safety of all individuals present within the premises.

To further tighten security protocols, a strict process will be followed for issuing ODI press gallery cards, which will be made available through the respective beat reporters. Cameramen covering Gate No. 1 of the Parliament House will be granted access based on a pre-compiled list.
The spokesperson emphasised that all journalists must carry their press gallery cards at all times while covering the sessions. These measures reflect the administration’s commitment to ensuring a secure environment for the proceedings.
